I’m fresh back from a prairie tour with the mighty Swarm. We played rural communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The prairies are amazing and beautiful. Frequently we passed fields of farm equipment in various states of disrepair, scattered at random over the grass.

I returned with many photos. Many of the photos are of rust. You can see some of the photos on flickr.

Sadly, time constraints prevented us from stopping at every heap of clang and batter to bang away. All was not lost though - our hotel in Oyen, Alberta was right beside the local farm-equipment museum where several hours of fruitful improvisation were had.

We also played the E.A. Rawlinson centre in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. The theatre there is great and the technical staff are supremely helpful. After setting up the show we were left with some extra time, so they set up smoke machines!

So helpful was the tech crew that we were able to pull off reactive video backdrops for the whole second half of the theatrical show. We were able to video the whole thing as well, so there should be some images up shortly. stay tuned…
