This weekend Swarm played the Mary Irwin theatre in Kelowna to an enthusiastic audience. We had a great time.
The video we used included some appropriated images that should be credited.
video for Spinfectious included a clip from the film Bodysong
video for 7of9 included a clip from At Land
video for Anung Un Rama contained a clip from Meditation on Violence
short clips from a plethora of public domain movies were used throughout, thanks mainly to publicdomaintorrents
More images and video clips to come in the next few days.

Fresh 20 minute video demo posted. The audio is from the ‘world’s heaviest dubstep’ compilation - provenance unknown but the mix of ‘wayfaring stranger’ that kicks it off is brilliant. It’s a live video recording and best viewed fullscreen.

Several months and a variety of huge life-altering events later it’s time for me to pick this project up and dust it off. If you know what’s happened, you don’t need an explanation, and if you don’t know it probably doesn’t matter too much anyway.
The important thing is that the game is afoot.
There are updates to upcoming events in the calendar section and more things to come.
In the meantime, here are some photos of Swarm in the recent Vancouver Celtic Parade.

The Burn Bc event at the Waldorf was a lot of fun - video projected large style on a white wall and drums and fire.
Also a flyer has gone out for the upcoming 12 Minutes Max event at the Firehall arts centre in Vancouver. Swarm will be premiering KounterKlockWerk - a new kinetic drum piece with banging and spinning and bungee throws. Much fun. (click flyer image for a larger version)

These are busy times… and that’s a good thing.
Last night at Open Studios went completely off. I’ll throw some photos up if I get the chance, but mostly I was too busy dancing or mixing to make with the clicky.
There is upcoming business to be aware of also.
On the night of the 30th I’ll be throwing down video and playing with Swarm at the Burn BC Cirque du Sag event happening at the Waldorf. I’m told things get going at around 8. At 10:00 there will be fire!
On December 11 and 12 Swarm will be premiering a new choreographed drum piece at the 12 Minutes Max series at the Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver. More info to come on that date as it comes through.
That’s TWO local Swarm appearances in a month. This does not happen often, so haul yourselves out and witness the awesomeness.

at the hands of the lighta! crew

the lighta! crew came through as usual - killer show, super heavy heavies and a wicked vibe.
the main video wall was one projector mirroring another, which was a bit odd, because it imposed bilateral symmetry on the mix. It worked out though - some results have been uploaded to my flickr gallery.

Today’s episode of Schlock Mercenary, by Howard Tayler is particularly awesome.
Tagon’s Toughs have been on my screen for several years now (with nary a day missed) but this is the first definite synchromystic occurrence between me and the strip.
It would be rude to give away the punchline - but check it out.

I’ve made recordings of the A440hz show at Open Studios available online.
A remixable audio file is up for grabs at CCmixter and a video record of the performance can be viewed below.
The oratory was extemporaneous (with notes) based on the guiding principles of the A440hz electromagnetic explorations project.
The video background was responsive to the environmental audio and is built of photographs (taken by me) of the [human hearing] portion of the A440hz installation.
