The last 9 months have been preoccupied with the gestation and birth of a son.
Most of the work on that front was accomplished by my lovely wife – I tried not to spend too much time hepling.

In June King Ore orchestrated an evening of Doom Lounge as part of the In the House Festival. Excerpts from the performance will make their way online eventually. These things have a way of taking longer than it seems they should.

June also provided an opportunity to do some live visuals and guest lecture at a Plasmatron Laboratories underground Art Party and Channeling.
Those Visuals were projected again as part of New Forms Festival 11.

Terminal City Doom Lounge.

Frederick Brummer from Lift Studios came to my house a while ago and had me rant at his camera machine for posterity. The fruits of that interview are up on the lift website in full-screen flashy loveliness.

working on a project that needs some iconic emblems… here are some of them

The wiring at the Astoria maybe leaves something to be desired – powerbars plugged into powerbars plugged into powerbars…eek. We managed to blow the main breaker for everything past the pool tables and had to sacrifice a projector to reduce power draw, alas. But the place sounded brilliant.

Met some new people and saw some folks I hadn’t seen in a while. Also climbed around the ceiling. Good times.

Low Indigo is irregular, ongoing and highly recommended.

For the past several weeks SWARM has been conducting a series of experimental sessions with an unusual collection of objects. Unusual even by our standards – which is saying something. The centrepiece has been a variant setup of Bill’s Strange Fruit tower assemblage. We’ve altered the configuration of instruments and added more contact microphones. The tower mics all run through a little 8 channel mixer which runs to the main board and through a set of powered monitors. We’re also using two sets of large cans, an assortment of pvc drums, a portable suitcase sized xylophone and a set of tuned tanks (of the sort used for holding pressurized gasses). Also rototoms, and at one point the floor.

This is the first release of that undertaking. Next week there will be video.
